31 Day Challenge- Day 6 My Future

I may only be a Sophomore in high school, but I have my future pretty well planned out when it comes to college and what I want to do after. I have known for a few years that I want to be a lawyer when I get out of college. I want to go on and be a prosecutor and help put people behind bars that don't deserve to be walking the streets freely. I want to move back to my home area of Houston and get accepted to the University of Houston and major in Law. After my four years there, I hope to go on to a good law school, maybe at UH, I'm not quite sure yet, and graduate from that.
Ever since I was maybe about 12 or 13 I had made up my mind of what I wanted to do when I was older. I love to watch any type of law show, my favorite show is Law & Order: SVU. I also watch the original Law & Order, The Defenders, CSI: Miami, and Hawaii Five-O. If it is a show about lawyers, or anything to do with solving cases you can bet I am into that show. People say that I am good at arguing, which is a great trait for a lawyer, and if you knew anything about me and my siblings, I am really good at fighting for what I know is right. I don't want to be a lawyer just because of the money they make, I want to be a lawyer because I think that I would be a good one.
I have decided to be a prosecutor because I see all of the people committing murder, kidnapping, raping, and abusing other innocent people that get away with it. Everyday there is someone that is killed, raped, or abused by someone and we can't have those people out on the streets. As a prosecutor's job, they put those criminals behind bars. I want to be a part of a team that does that. People that have kill people out of cold blood don't deserve to live. Two words. Death penalty.
A lot of people are for the death penalty, and a lot of people are against it. I did a speech last year in my speech class about me being for the death penalty, and there were people that were for it and against it. It is a very strong topic to talk about, but it is something that serves a good purpose. Someone that murders an innocent person should be put on the death penalty. If that murderer gets a few years in jail, he is just going to get out and do the same exact thing to another person! People say that they have changed, but they still have that craving for the feeling of killing someone once they have already done it once before. If you put those people on death row, they have a chance to think about what they did. Some people might come to their sense and realize why they are there, but there are still the people that don't care.
This world would be chaos if we didn't have lawyers. Defenders or prosecutors. When I graduate from college and law school I am going to become a part of a team that puts criminals that deserve to be behind bars behind them. And I honestly can't wait until I am.
